It's all about the destination...

In a bid to ensure that kids and wife enjoy their first outings I've been thinking about plans and destinations and as a good (boaty) friend just mentioned to me, it's good to have a destination in mind. For example, my outing yesterday from West Mersea could have had a lunch time stop at Tollsbury Marina, lunch, maybe a swim in their pool, and then back home...

... which got me thinking, is there a coastal guide of good places for people like us to stop off? Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious, and maybe every marina has good food and welcomes guests, but I suspect not?

The ideal would be an App like BoatLaunch that helps guide novice SIBers to good stopping off points...

What I learnt yesterday is that it's mighty tricky identifying anything on land from 1/2 a mile out to sea.

Any suggestions? Books? Apps? Guides? Websites?

In particular I'm thinking Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex/Devon/Cornwall...

Certainly on here re' Devon/Cornwall there are loads of topics discussing places to visit/trips/watering holes etc. The Dart area is wonderful for SIB'ing. Not so sure about the East coast but others will know. We used to visit Norfolk a lot and I lived in Essex for years but never boated there.
