First outing....I have questions

i have the same engine as you all points have been covered but my set up 3.65 m mercury is pin on second hole, tubes solid,weight distributed evenly whatever i carry never change pin position, cav plate level with the keel no splashes at all, definitely an air bubble popping out re the bump & make sure you have a bit of weight forward makes for a better ride not so susceptible to filliping in large waves i have a 43 lts of fuel tank doing that it also stops the boat from twitching at WOT more hull in the water if that makes sense [not bow high]

One question. You have the pin in the second hole, what does that mean? How are we counting? Second closest to transom er furthest or what? Lot of fun, this, but it’s like traveling in a foreign country, I don’t know the language just.

First hole is the one nearest the transom. Sounds like a blast where you're based!

as JW says nearest transom number one hole by all means play with it to suit you but i find that the second hole has always worked for me it's more weight distribution i concentrate on as it changes all the time if you check out gurnards round mull video there's a couple of good bits of my boat on the plane with full camping kit for the trip
