Basic pressure gauge suitable?

Just read the current post by Slate1234 & it has made me question the suitability of my pressure gauge.

My local inflatable dealer sold me a gauge which is very basic, it simply has two pictures, one shows an image of the dinghy with the main tubes highlighted, the other image highlights the air floor, as I'm a complete novice I just wondered if this type of gauge is suitable for all boats or is pre-set for a specific brand?
I have searched online but have not seen another like it. If anybody is familiar with this type of gauge & has experience on if they are OK I'd appreciate your view

My boat is a Zodiac 340 Acti-v.

If sib was sent along with that pressure gauge use it, can inflate to full green mark, without passing it. Or at middle of green for your peace of mind. Older same gauges used to have color segments. The only way to know how much bar/psi pressure is achieved at green mark for both tubes and air floor would be to compare readings against a standard number scale gauge.

Bought the pressure gauge separately as the dinghy did not come with one, but it looks exactly the same as the one in Max's link so it should be OK, incredibly hard with a double action pump to reach the pressure indicated though, feels like it will either brake the pump or burst the floor.

Is that a double action hand or foot pump and which model is it ?

Pressure gauge: home made or bought, or a BST pump with built in gauge.
Or both :-)
