Any C-Craft fans?

I came across this the other day and thought some of you might appreciate it. It's a pic of me in a C-Craft that appeared in the company's brochure circa 1970 (I'm the kid on the starboard side).

Our neighbor worked in sales/marketing for the company. His wife is at the tiller and they asked me to be part of the "family" during the photo shoot on the Wiltshire Avon.

I can post the other side of the brochure with specs etc. if anyone's interested.

This probably accounts for my current ownership of an Avon Supersport 4.60

Good to see. We had a C Craft as our first boat; my Dad bought a 13 ft model around 1969/70 from Bristol when I was about 10. Dont remember who the dealer was but we had a 20 hp Johnson with it. It was this that gave me the rib bug that Ive been trying to shake off for the last 40 years!

Here's the other side of the brochure.

Notice how the bloke with the hat in the bottom photo looks like he might be about to use the boat to move some dodgy stereos

Happy memories

We had a C-Craft C9, the smallest of the C-Craft 'sports' SIBs with a Chrysler 4.5HP outboard - great fun.

Good memories indeed!

We never had a boat of our own but our neighbor used to let us borrow one once in a while. One year we took one down to Cornwall on holiday. We launched out of Gweek and cruised the river. When it got warm in the summer we'd put one in the back garden and fill it with water and turn it into a "pool."

My first SIB was a C-Craft. About three and a half metres, with a wooden floor. I like the bow dodger design, and am a but surprised that no one else seems to make them like this.

I agree! I love bow dodgers. Somekind of obsession.

The only ones I have seen that offer the bow dodger these days are Humber.

Up at mum's today and dug out some old photos (1972). Happy days

This must have been soon after we got it, as it has a 'Penta' outboard in the photo, before Dad 'upgraded' to the Chrysler.

Cheers

Chris
