Must be the day for it. On a smaller scale I've lost the rear bench seat for an open sports boat today on the A30 heading towards A38 - Darn thing must have got caught by the wind and took off. Crazy thing is it's huge and very heavy. I went back up and down 3 times buts it's gone!!!

Lucky it not caused any accidents. I've spoken with the HA and police but they've not picked it up. Either a passer-by did or it's gone down a bank somewhere. That's 500 gone!!!

Still could have been worse like this poor chap with the Rib. Looks nasty

some very interesting comments been made on the article.

Not a good start to their weekend!
Everyone will be pleased to know that the driver of the Range Rover is a friend and colleague and he is well, just battered, bruised and shocked by what happened.

He was driving a Range Rover to take the Ribtec down for a holiday break in Cornwall and decided to have a slow overnight run down. Having recently had a coffee break and was heading south on the M5 about 45 mph on the inside lane when suddenly a truck came up behind and smashed straight into the back of the towed RIB pushing the rib out into the lane and jack knifing the lot. The boat went over on the trailer but the range rover stayed on its tyres but was forced into a crash barrier and down a ditch.

The lorry driver who did this only stopped some way down the road out of the photo images. People who saw this have told police the lorry driver just drove straight into the back of the RIB and luckily have helped so the lorry driver is prosecuted.

As stated elsewhere a bad incident but everyone is about to tells us what happened and not as shown in some reporting and linked e mails.

Thanks for the info, Im sure im not the only one on here who is glad to hear that a fellow RIB owner is unhurt in this terrible accident. Im glad there were witnesses to support the event.

I hope it all works out for him and he is able to get everything back on the road/water

I'd have loved to see that negotiate the turn at the bottom of the hill at Mylor?
