Whoever you go with check the max length of trailer they will cover for breakdown. We had to take out breakdown cover with the caravan club after finding out my wife's rowing team's boat was longer than the RAC would recover. Only found that out after having to pay 600 to have a commercial recovery company bring it home from one race after it lunched a wheel-bearing (so much for the club having changed them)

AA recovered my boat on flatbed after losing a wheel, maybe length of rig had something to do with it? Mine is about 20 feet on including trailer,

AA Abandoned me on m26 some years ago when a trailer bearing failed. It took me 10 hours and hundreds of to get off the motorway, fix it and get home.

It was rather unsettling that their whole attitude was "we can't help your on your own" - you'd have thought they might have offered some (paid) suggestions / made arrangements.

It goes without saying I'm not their biggest fan since this event!

that's not good Daniel, no wonder your not a fan of the AA

as far as I know, the only real issue with Mayday / Greenflag is it must be a standard 50mm towball, which I guess will cover the vast majority of boat trailers, other than that it's just the level of cover you choose to go for

Just been talking to AA

max length 7m overall, max width 2.3m overall !!

Wont cover me as my boat has a 2.5m width

So I rang Green Flag and they're fine with it
