Windscreens

Just got back from A&E after having glass in my left eye.Bonnet flew up smashed screen and has warped the roof.Thought i would phone some windscreen companies autoglass £380.00 robbing bastards .Fiat punto 2001.£180.00 from national windscreens still think thats high was hoping for a fair bit cheaper any suggestions

Sounds nasty, glad to hear you're not too badly hurt.

RAC were the cheapest when I had most of my car windows smashed by vandals.

Check your insurance it may be covered. Did the safety latch on the bonnet fail? if so I would be having a serious talk with the dealer.

That has always been my worst nightmare - has caused many serious accidents. i always feel so much safer with a car that has the bonnet opening the other way!!!

Try picking up a screen from a local scrappies - they can usually put you in touch with someone to fit it as well.

Before buying from the scrappies check if its a bonded screen, how much the trim sets are as i've been caught out a few times like this.
I know there is a problem with the clio bonnet catches, it was on Watchdog.

Many policies offer glass cover without affecting NCB. My gf had hers crack, it was covered, and her premium didn't go up.
