Astra 1.7TD SRi - £1200
Mrs Nasher has decided itís time for a smaller car now the kids donít need ferrying around so much, and has her heart set on a Mini.
Sheís really sad about moving her Astra on, as weíve had it years and sheís very fond of it.
54 plate Mk5 Astra 1.7TD Sri 5 door.
Passed itís MOT on the 1st February so has nearly a full year.
It did have 2 advisories:
1 Rear tyre nearing itís limit, so I replaced it the same day.
Slight wear in a steering ball joint, but I canít find it.
I also replaced the rear exhaust box rubbers as it was a bit loose and changed the oil, oil filter and air filter.
It now has 4 almost new tyres on it.
It has done 129K miles, but runs and drives very nicely.
There are no drivetrain bearing noises at all, and the manual gearbox is very sweet.
I really enjoy driving it as it has all the SRi attributes including a good turn of speed, but is also economical with itís 1.7TD lump.
Weíve owned it since it was a couple of years old, and itís only had one previous owner which was Vauxhall as it was a company car.
I have changed the oil and filters @ every 7.5K miles, the last time being the 1st Feb this year.
Iíve also replaced or repaired anything that needed doing as soon as Mrs Nasher mentioned it, or if when I drove it I decided it needed doing.
The exterior is in very good condition for itís age, although there are some curb marks on a couple of the wheels.
The interior is also in very good condition apart from two worn parts on the drivers seat bolster that Mrs Nasher has sewn patches over to stop them getting any worse.
As itís the SRi it has lower stiffer suspension, 17in wheels and bucket seats.
Itís averaged @45MPG over the whole time weíve owned it.
Over the years itís had an alternator, rear springs, both front wheel bearings, several small coolant hoses around the engine, countless sets of brake pads etc.
Weíre looking for £1200, which considering the years MOT and 4 newish tyres is good value.
