Weather North Central Atlantic

Man you guys cooked up a good one East of the Maritime Provinces. We've got to be two thousand miles South of where the storm is now and remains stationary but are expected to have 25 foot seas breaking on our North Coasts through Saturday morning.

The NWS comments included with the forecast said that this event in the Atlantic will create the most powerful surf here since 1991, the Perfect Storm. Our winds, following a frontal passage yesterday, are only 25kts. out of the NE.

Was this storm on the coast at some point? I missed it in my normal scan until the local warnings were raised. 25 foot breakers here are unheard of except in powerful local hurricanes!

Ah yes, we had that storm for three days. The snow started at 2pm on Monday, rapidly developed into a blizzard which raged through the night. The next day we had 24hrs or so of freezing rain followed on the third day by actual rain. All in all a bit of a mess.

In the last week we've had 3 storms which dumped 3ft of snow. Winter came back with a vengance after a mild spell in late Jan & Feb that saw all the snow go. And there was me planning to buy a skidoo this winter.
