Center console for Avon 310 rover

Hello from Michigan. I am looking for a center console with a seat molded in the front of the councle. We use our Avon 310 rover for long distance cruising for two people and want to make it more comfortable. Any leads would be great. Thanks Roger

You lose a large percentage of deck space putting a CC in a boat that small. You sure that's the route you want to go?

A small cooler with a hefty foam pad may work for the seat. Don't know much about suitable consoles, sorry.

A quick search turned these up though:

St. Croix Eurohelm Seating and Steering Package for Inflatable Boats

Luck;

console

Here is a small console that may work for you. However it does not have a seat in front of it.

Fiberglass Console For RIBs

Defender stocks these consoles as well as some others and seats.

Thanks for the responces. I know that adding a center console will basically turn this boat into a two person boat. We use this boat as a tender and planes well with the both of us. We want to set this up as a long range tender with comforts still looking for a little console with a small seat in the front. Thanks for the responses

Small console & seat for your Avon Rover, perhaps.

Maybe a set-up like one of the attached for your Avon??

Just sharing some thoughts I've done.

I had a Walker Bay Genesis Deluxe console RIB. It was a 310. This setup gave you a console with a seat beside it, two seats across the back (one space was for the operator), and a seat/step/locker with a cushion at the bow. I could carry 4 reasonable sized adults with each one having a seat. It was more comfortable with only 2 people on board, but could carry a full load when necessary.

If you can find one, a console by itself will usually cost $600-800 (the St. Croix one is ~$1300). Then you will need to add controls. Usually it will have to be shipped as freight.

Some RIB manufacturers offer consoles for their boats, getting one on its own can be difficult. They are not usually stock items. Also most console are designed for a particular model boat hull, fitting it to a different hull may require some work.

Grand Boats has a nice console. It is for the G340 RIB they sell. The console is not shown individually in their catalog, but should be available if you ask them. Don't know how it would fit in a 310. I was looking to put it in a 470. It is about $800. Grand was the most responsive company I dealt with when trying to get a console. Since it is made in Canada you have to arrange for importing it.

Nautica (in FL) also has some consoles.

Boyd at Annapolis Inflatables used some pretty small consoles laying around (not shown on the website). Maybe he still does.

Todd manufacturing also used to make some consoles for small boats. They were less expensive, but you got what you paid for.

When I first thought of putting a eurohelm on my Avon 315, the naysayers all came online to tell me the rib was too small for a eurohelm, tiller steering is better for a small boat etc. etc.

Long story short, I sold the Avon 315 with the 15hp 2 stroke.

Here is my new Zodiac 310 hypalon rib with eurohelm and Tohatsu 20hp stroke. It has electric start, electric tilt, automatic bilge pump and even nav lights. It is incredibly easy to start, idles beautifully, the handling is superb. It easily carries 4 adults. This dinghy of roughly the same size as my old Avon 315 with tiller steering is 100% more capable.

Thanks Boyd from Annapolis Inflatables ... love this little boat!
