That's strange I'd drop forum member 'Davie' a pm he's a yam dealer & very knowledgeable it was him told me they were cheap but sometimes the same part comes under different part numbers at different prices
I got a used box off him & he might have another & will do mail order if required
Worth a try anyway

Am I being thick ? - but what he will then have is a "left hand" control lever - which will be no use on his "right hand" console. If he's lucky he can simply move the cables etc and drill new holes and remount it. Alternatively he could mount it on some standoffs / a bracket (e.g. as RNLI do I think) which would let him attach the left hand configuration on the right side of the console.

You are correct, standoff bracket is a good idea as then the trim switch would be thumb useable

They must have heard/ understood you as in the new brochure they have added "New rotatable grip allows operation of the power trim and tilt switch with the thumb of either hand"

The Yamaha 703 is completely reversible. You just unbolt the handle and flip it to the other side along with the white half moon plastic decent and do the bolt up.

Yamaha have just released a new cosmetically redesigned 703 control box for the first time in over 30 years. I prefer the older style!
