Watts & Sonar

Could a more enlightened member of the forum explain to me how the wattage of Sonar works. You can get sonars that have 2000/4000 and even 8000watts of power this would give a hefty current and power drain. How does this relate to actual current and power drain.

JW, Rogue etc are you out there?

New boat is here, very happy!
