Suzuki GPS

Anyone know of a GPS receiver compatible with the 2018 Suzuki smart guage? I can't get my guage to talk to my existing two GPS receivers cos of nmea incompatibility.... Suzuki's costs over £450. Thx

No apparently not. I have a new NMEA 2000 guage on my new Suzi engine. I want a cheap GPS receiver to interface with it

You will need to be more specific, what chartplotters (i assume that is what you mean by GPS) and gauges do you have now exactly?

What NMEA backbone do you have now? I.e nmea 0183 or 2000.

OK here is the specifics.

I have a Lowrance 330C

It has the ability (pages 42, 43, 44) it seems to talk NMEA 2000.

I have a bang up to date Suzi 150DF engine with the standard SMIS gauge. It is NMEA 2000.

No one in the boat builder or chandlery community here in Lymington seem to know how to do this!!!

They suggest rather than trying to get the Suzi SMIS to talk to the Lowrance GPS receiver (LGC2000) {which is hard}, I buy a Suzuki receiver which is £400+....

All I want to do is to present real time fuel consumption on my SMIS gauge

Whilst it would be remiss of me to say they dont know what they are talking about.....lowrance make Suzuki gauges and are well known to work well with each other generally speaking. Not sure why that would suddenly be a problem to be honest without a bit if reading.

I dont have time just now to look at specifics but I'll have a look tomorrow.

I'll admit I've had a couple of glasses of vino, but the linky a few posts back appears to show a similar connection cabling to my prehistoric lowrance....

If I'm reading this right you have a fuel sender sensor which won't talk to your plotter? Assuming your plotter is similar to mine, you can dive into the setup menu and tell it which bus (2K or 0183) the GPS signal is read from. I got mine set up to take position from a 2K puck on the A-frame with a link to my trusty Garmin 12 (outputting 0183) as backup...

There should be another menu option (properly buried if memory serves) to set up other inputs... I have my 510 showing cyl head temp & coolant pressure.
