Sony CD player Spares

Was out last week in some 'interesting' waves and managed to bounce the CD player out of the console so it ended up on the floor of the cabin....

It has meant that the main button on the CD player has vanished ..... and having pulled the boat apart I cant find it anywhere .

Has anyone got any experience of where may be able to just to sell me a new push on button for a Sony CDX MR10 ???? I am sure its only pence worth - just makes it look rubbish without it !..

Any pointers appreciated ... car stereo dealers etc ??

Pete

I would give the Sony centre a call, they were helpful a couple of years ago when I needed a part.

Spoke to SONY UK , spares & repair helpline who dont even have model listed ! So they are 'looking into it' - I take this to mean I will never hear from them again !

I am tempted to nip into the local halfords and 'accidentally' pull the knob off one on display - I do understand that would be 100% unethical not to mention illegal however ..........

What ever happened to local shops who had a 'man' that could rumage in a pot and pull out the exact part needed ?

When I was a car dealer (up until two years ago) we used to use Maple audio in Bath who are dealers and repair agents for pretty much all car stereos and very helpful.
Just googled them and they're still going.

Result !

Well I take it back about Sony ! I got an email from thier parts people today saying they have the part available will take 10 days to deliver etc !! ( Will see if it actually is the right part soon...)

If anyone needs Sony parts the number to call is 0871 222 9333 ;

Seme Nedis Ltd
Hudson Road
Melton Mowbray
LE13 1BS

A small plastic button however £10 !

Still got to be cheaper than a new unit & the associated hassle fitting it .
