New Fusion Radio

I thought I would share my latest install.
This is my second radio. The first lasted 5 years and then wouldn't tune in. As solid state nothing to repair. New fusion exactly the same dimensions but with Bluetooth. Much better and a decent plug in wiring loom fitted.

The old one deteriorated in the sun quite badly and perhaps had water ingress, who knows. Not doing a cover for it I had a brain wave. Driving on the road the other day behind a lorry, I noticed the rear door catch/handle had a canvas cover loosely flapping over it, protecting it from road spray.....

I had a bit of hypalon material, tucked it in behind radio, added a paper file clip to leading edge giving it a bit of weight and now looks like the back of a lorry

It seems that Fusion is becoming very popular as I have also only just had the MS-RA70N installed c/w twin 7.7" speakers - sports version. These speakers are illuminated and the lights are connected to the deck light switch . The radio is great and works very well with my iPhone 7 via bluetooth. The antenna is installed inside the console and the reception is very good.

I must now get that screen cover

Just out of interest, what is the 6 inch red strip just above the hatch at the bottom of each picture, looks like a light?
