Interesting you've had two fail and redthunder has had his fail too however I notice on yours the connector appears to be plastic where on ours it is a metal ring? Perhaps this is an improvement garmin have made in response to the issue? We are currently thinking go for blue. When I sent it back to Garmin for repair. The replacement came back with a metal ring. So maybe that will stronger. Great radio otherwise.

Perhaps if the engine sounded like a bloody air raid siren then we might need to, but as we can talk normally at cruise there is no need
