Garmin 178C - position display problem

Hi, I have a garmin 178C plotter and im tearing my haid out trying to get the position to display as an option in the view window, the unit knows where it is as I can clearly see a graphical position of the boat but when I go into the options where you can set it to display various things in a window including position which the manual states the option for displaying position is not present, is there some other setting that I have not got correct which is stopping that menu choice from displaying ? can anyone advise please ?

Slow down a bit. Are you trying to overlay the lat/lon numbers?
