FAO Etec Owners with Fuel Guage Problems

If you are running the new I-command gauges then you may be having problems with getting an accurate reading from the fuel gauge. This could well be due to the fuel Sender fitted to the boat.

The Etec Analogue to digital converter is designed to work with the US type 240/33 ohm sender.

Some boats use the other older style sender which is 10/180 ohms so as well as being a different ohm range its also reversed ie.

240 ohms = Full & 33 ohms = Empty

as opposed to...

10 ohms = Full & 180 ohms = Empty

So no matter how much you try to calibrate the sender module you will struggle to get any kind of accurate readings.
