Matt,

Lets hope so. £140 for a pair of those is a steal.

I'm bringing back an old thread of mine, but it's time to finally buy some decent speakers.

I took one out, and measure the cut-out to be 4.45inches / 113mm

The current ones are 4Ohm, so looking for something similar... Anyone got anythign siilar fitted to their boat?

Check out the AV Marine site. Thats where I got my waterproof speakers for about £40. They still work after loads of water being thrown at them and nearly a years use.

No use at any sort of speed but good when your moored up or drifting.

I do like a bit of sound at speed, hence I added an amp (Should have mentioned that).

I don't mind spending around the £100 range. However the 6.5" seems to be the most popular size, the overall diameter of mine are 6" ... So going to have to stick with that

Which amp you got. Thats the next bit of kit I'm looking for.

Nice price I think you'll agree

400w 2-way. Perfect for the boat. No point in buying a 1000w when you're not gonna need all that power. I would have bought a bigger one if funds allowed at the time.

So you find 400 Amp okay.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...eria=car%20amp

I was thinking the above would be okay but its only 100 amp.

I'll look for a 400 amp one then.

They are pretty big. Where is yours fitted ?

400w is more than enough for me. I'm no expert though so please don't take that to heart!

Should have mentioned im running a sports cruiser (Member because I used to have a RIB) so I have her installed in the cabin at the end of the bed (closest to the electrics but plenty of air)

If I was installing in a RIB, i'd use STRONG STRONG glue to glue a timber frame to the inside, high as possible part of the console, and screw the amp onto that. In a RIB, the higher in a console the better IMHO, unless your console is totally waterproof
