I set free the Ribraider last weekend (anyone want to buy it?) and fitted a 1m Gnomex in its place.
Hope to get out on the water soon and see how it compares.

The local marine sparky has now supplied me with a VTronix 1.5m GRP job with 2 way mount. It's hardwired at the business end. Shakespear have bought VTronix, so it's actually a Shakespear aerial and says so on the base. Let's hope that it does the trick.

The Shakespear/VTronix MD10S is giving superb results. On last weeks Scillies trip I was getting solid radio traffic at all times. With the Rib Raider, the VHF rarely picked-up anything.

Hell it must be good.

Didn't think anything could get you to receive rather then transmit!

Now then is this 'ere MD10S anything like a RV120P (V-Tronix)? McSalvors have them in stock.

If you allowed into Penryn, try here http://www.seaware.co.uk/ and buy the MD10S.

Yep I'm allowed
Last time I was there I dropped a 1 coin, I was told to kick it to Falmouth before I picked it up!

I Think the MD10S is an RV 120 but with the mount included, spec's on the V Tronix site are identical.
