Aerial. Stainless vs fibreglass

Hi. Need a new aerial for my rib it's mounted on top of a-frame.

Any experience or comments on stainless whip vs fibreglass aerials?

Thanks

I have always had Glomex 2.4m 6db gain GRP aerials on my boats & they have always performed flawlessly, I started with Vtronix & they kept failing, they couldn't take the hammer. The Vtronix "raider" stainless has had a lot of problems. Don't forget that a crap radio on a good aerial is still a crap radio

I've seen three summers from my Glomex, it's taken a fair battering and still looks good. It works too

PS if you do go for a GRP aerial, make sure that it has a stainless steel ferrule, not a brass one or, god forbid, plastic. Especially if you are going "long"
