Do I chance it?
I would but then I've owned a couple. If you look after it and get it fitted by a reputable dealer it will be a good engine for the boat.

If its a new one it should have a 5 year warranty and the Evinrude warranty is a good one and does not decline.

I currently have a Honda, it is a nice and reliable engine however I still would rather have a "rude" hanging off the transom

Cheers Chris, time will tell I guess but I'm looking forward to getting it wet and can only hope I've made the right choice.

Just remember your promise i.e. that when you sell it, we get first option. I am getting fed up of looking at yams and Honda's that are so called leisure use to find they have 3-5000 BLEEP hours on them and are really ex commercial.

LOL, haven't even got it yet and you want me to sell it

A promise is a promise, but don't hold your breathe as unless I win the lottery I plan to keep this one for at least 5.5 years
