What model is this?

I am selling a Mercury 9.9hp 2 stroke outboard on ebay.

Somone has asked me if the outboard has the data plate on it and what the model no is.

I have looked and cant find anything only a sticker with the serial no on.

Now i am a bit worried thinking is it even a 9.9 and what year is it.

For some reason i think its a 1995 model but now im not so sure.

Is there anyway of finding out any info on these by anything under the hood etc??

Looks like a nice engine.

There may be a dog tag tapped into the powerhead, but I would not worry - people who ask questions on Fleabay rarely end up bidding no matter how positive the answer is.

if you google brunswickmarine, click on the download centre , then click on registrations put the serial number in and provided it has been registered then the date it was registered is the age and it will tell you what obm it is

It's a 1992 model based on the serial number which the OP has PM'd me.

Decals are not original, or at least the White numbers are without question retrospect and the tiller handle shows it's actual age. The newer ones are bulkier to start with
