What do ye think?

I am selling my 25hp Mariner and putting on a 40hp Mariner, I'm getting an XRNLI engine for €1500 i have no idea how old it is can anyone shed light on this??? also the engine is off of a D-Class...what modifications would the RNLI have done to these engines? Thanks Guys!!

there is another thread on these motors somewhere . I nearlybought one last year .
I seem to remember they have an unusual shaft length between long and short , 18" I think .

Price sounds good , the one i was after was about £1750 and i think "Bill Highprice marine" were selling them at over 2grand

All were described as mechanically sound and checked but cosmetic damage

Bill Higham Marine has some 50HP units for sale on boatsandoutboards.co.uk

From D-class lifeboats, the specification is:

1. Strengthened swivel tube
2. Gas assisted Tilt
3. Mid section extension kit and splash plate
4. Extended gear shaft
5. kill switch

Not sure if that's any help.

Just had a look-He's asking £800 less then a new Tohatsu for an engine up to 5 years old

I can't find the information I had on them, but there are also some non standard bits related to the inversion proofing. From memory they remove the valve(s) and switch(es) related to the inversion proofing and fit blanking plates.

he was asking the same as I was offered a new tohasu for last year at the boatshow . problem is there are no Tohasu's left and he knows it , Robbin B****
