What is the purpose for a t top on a rib? im pretty new to ribbing, sorry if this is a dumb question.

May also give you some storage for light items (hang a couple of mesh bags underneath), a platform to mount deck lights and rod holders (rocket launcher types), a height extension for your VHF antenna, etc.
