just posting this in case some poor sod is searching for an answer sometime as I was up to 10 minutes ago
symptom: engine not starting properly, running down battery, barely turning over, starting but not running on, ok when eventually started.
Check leads from battery to engine you might find one rubbing on engine mount causing partial grounding.
