Quicksilver Commander 2000 trim-tilt switch problem

I have a mid 1990's Quicksilver Commander 2000 throttle remote control with tilt/trim switch in the handle end. The tilt trim switch has failed and needs replaced but I can't figure out how to get the switch out. Parts diagrams I have found on line (eg http://www.mercruiserparts.com/IMAGE...000.91A/45.png) show that the bit of the handle containing the switch (Part No 18 on the diagram) is secured to the throttle lever itself by a screw (part No 14 on the diagram) but on mine there is no such screw and no apparent way of removing the end of the handle. Has anybody had the same difficulty and found a way to get at it?

Thanks

Andrew

handle

Take the control box off. Take the bolt out no 34 and remove the handle. You will see the small phillips screws that hold the red lock on. Take them out. Ther is one more screw in the middle of the return spring, take that out. the top plastic grip will now slide off. You will see the screw now that holds the switch in place that you are looking for.
