Prop Pitch question: an easy one!

Okay, so some of you may have seen the little Flatacraft Force 4 that I have (pictures on the gallery).
She has been powered in the past by an Evinrude 25 but I'm finding that with two adults (read "fat porkers") and minimal equipment she is slow and takes an age to plane.

I've been offered a Mariner 40 (2 cyl, 2-stroke) which is in mint condition apart from the prop so it seems like the ideal time to ask the question:

what pitch should I go for on such a small RIB with a nice engine like that powering it?

I'm looking for rapid acceleration and little else.........

I had a 40 Mariner on a 4.7 M Bombard SIB, it had a 14x17 prop and the acceleration was outrageous!

Have a chat to Noddy-he's got an adjustable pitch 4 bladed plastic prop on his boat and will be able to point you to where to get one. From memory they arent very expensive either compared to ally or s/s.

Thanks Nos: I know Noddy has a Vari-Blade prop and I'll bet a month's salary that it is a ProPulse in Blue & Black and that he bought it on ebay

(I'm wishing I hadn't sold it now )

I'm hoping to get the engine in the next two weeks so I'll see what prop it comes with and then play with a few sizes until I get the right holeshot,

thanks again
