Outboard Service Central Scotland?

Hi does anyone know where I could take a 100hp Mercury Outboard to be looked at, serviced and if necessary repaired this week (could be doing with it for Friday next week).I stay in Edinburgh but could travel if I had to (not too far). I've tried Ferry Marine at Port Edgar. Are any members outboard mechanics??

The Bosuns locker at Port Edgar have Joined up with FYM and now have a new large workshop at port edgar , they are quite busy at the moment but might be able to fit you in . worth giving them a call , we had a rib booked in with ferry marine earlier this year and it sat for 6 weeks till we asked when they would be doing the service only to be told they couldn't give us a date as commercial customers were more important .
We went to the bosuns locker and were done in a week . Great service and a great bunch of guys !

Craig......

Try FYM at Port Edgar, they've recently moved from Grangemouth and have replaced Bosun's Locker. I don't know their present servicing arrangements. Phone em. Bosun's Locker was 0131 331 3875 FYM (Grangemouth) was 0132 466 5071

There's also Mitchells in Renfrew (5 mins off the M8) and Yampower (similar distance off the M74 - although if it's a merc you may have a problem if it needs spares there as they only tend to stock Yam bits)

Not much further time wise from Edinburgh is DA Marine in Newport (4 mins from south end of the Tay bridge)

No idea what any of their waiting lists are like at the moment tho'......

I have always found good that good engineers are worth waiting for.

If you phone a marine company and they can do it right away during the season they are either;

1: Dropping everything for you, not !
2: Sitting doing nothing.... wonder why that is
