Notwithstanding the arguments for & against cutting the transom/changing the engine/changing the leg etc. It just seems wrong to me, to cut down a perfectly good transom to make an engine fit that shouldn't be there in the first place. Bodge x Bodge = Bodge squared. It might work, it might not, but I'm old skool do it right first time. All IMHO of course😏

I think I'm going to use the engine as it is until something else turns up.The boat still shifts along but can't go full throttle but I only potter around the coast.
I've learnt a valuable lesson through this.GET THE RIGHT OUTBOARD.

If you get caught in weather you may not get home easily, be very careful.
