Lou, tickover is normally the idle speed in forward, in water, but not a bad guess for a girlie

Ta Pete. It only took nearly four and a half hours for someone to correct me. And it hasn't only been 'girlies' (I'll get you later for that ) looking at this thread, I bet!
Anyway Pete & Duncan, stop having a little pop at me and give Sirius the help he needs! Then I wouldn't feel the need to try!

Have a look at the throttle linkage on the side of the carbs. There is normally one large screw which controls the throttle stop position and therefore the minimum engine revs.

Itís Friday afternoon and I havenít been on my soap box or started an argument for at least an hour but Pete I donít think you are right mate Tick over is an engine that is running but not driving, in other words with the gears in neutral. Sure people speak about driving a boat at tick over but they really mean at idle revs. So lou you were right that is so hard to say for a chauvinist like me and especially about engine matters. I need to go and lay down Des
