Mercury 115 2 stroke Optimax

Thinking of buying a 6m rib with a Mercury 115 optimax on it.
What are these engines like?Whats Fuel consumption like? Reliability?

Hi

Welcome to the forum

You wont go wrong with an Optimax about 1 Litre per NM, now with 5 year warranty and very reliable.

We have got the 135. Nice engine. Great sound.

I can recommend the SmartCraft instrumentation.

These outboards are amazing....

mercury/mariner have been selling the optimax technology since the nineties so they were well ahead of the new 2 stroke emission laws. we sell these all day long with our new rib packages, we have had minimal complications and only one we had problems with and that was sorted under warranty in a flash...

I don't think you will go far wrong with the opti and with better fuel economy than a four stroke why choose anything else??
