Mariner age.

Hi,
Can anyone help me find the year of my engine, or tell me somewhere I might be able to find it? It is a 25hp short shaft Mariner. It is grey with three stripes on the hood, Dark red, light red, orange. It is a pull start tiller controlled.
There is a plate on the transom clamp and it says "25M" and then "695 S 029815".
Any help much appreciated,
Geoff

Many thanks for your response Karl.
I typed in my serial, but they don't recognise it. Does anyone know the address of that Swedish site that has a lot of serial numbers?
Geoff.

Thats an old serial number, so wont be on the Mariner database. I would guess its around a 1990 -1992 sort of age.

I used to have a short shaft 2-stroke Yamaha 25hp (25DM) with serial number 695 S 022712 which as far as I'm aware was circa 1985/86. Don't know if that's a hindrance or a help?

Thanks guys. With my other engines it was fairly straight forward, but I had heard Mariners were a problem.
Your dates fit in with what the guy who I bought it of told me. He said he had owned it from new, for about 15 years. But I had been lied to before, so wanted to make sure.
Thanks again guys.
