Johnson 4hp J4RSSM

Ignition Module Air Gap.

Does anyone here have a Johnson 4hp 1990-2001? (see image for the layout of this model)

The service manual states that the air gap between flywheel and ignition module is ‘very sensitive’ but I am unable to find the actual gap quoted anywhere in the manual or on-line.

Before disturbing it, I had used feeler gauges and thought that it was measuring 0.3mm, but that was some time ago and I am now doubting my (senior) memory. I have asked brp.com and they sent me a couple of UK dealerships to ask but I have had no joy with them.

So my big ask is, if any one here has this model and a set of feeler gauges, would you be so kind as to measure the gap for me?

All sorted, thanks anyway.

Info:

Air gap on this model should be 0.51mm - 0.56mm.
If you haven't got the 'ring tool' (which I haven't) you will need 2 sets of feeler gauges.
