idle-WOT

Hey another dumb question butt i was wondering is it very bad for your transom or engine to go from the slowest speed you can while still going forward to WOT? If that made no sense what im trying to say is, is it bad to jam the throttle all the way forward or is kind of creeping up to your final speed better? THanks

Think about it - would your car like to be driven like that??? Puts more stress on the drivetrain for a start - also on he conrods and the crank.

It's very unlikely to cause the boat any harm, but it's not the kindest way to treat an engine.

You can certainly accelerate briskly without just slamming the throttle forward, so there's no need to "creep up" to full throttle.

A rib isn't supposed to get an easy life, thats not what they're made for, and doesn't sound as though it's what you bought one for! Of course its not going to be as good for the boat or engine as taking it easy, but if you can resist, your a better man than me!!

If your really keen on being kind to the boat, then get it on the plane before hammering it.

I certainly didn't buy a 250 to go slow!
