I had one like that and it turned out to be the rear stainless hook on the catch Arcing off the lower HT Lead. If I remember correctly it was a royal pain in the ar$e. Sometimes the lead itself can get nicks in it from when people remove/fit the hood.

Hi there to everyone who gave input and advice to my problem with the electric shocks I was receiving of the engine on my rib. I'm new in the forum and couldn't remember my login details so its a bit of a late reply. I found the problem had Ben the catch where the cowling locks down into position was a bit bent and rusty. I got some electrical shrink wrap over it then taped the last little bit of faith electrical tape and all good. Problem fixed o more shocks or wondering when I mite get one just wanna say a massive thank you to everyone's input as all of it was good new knowledge for me. I think this forum is worth gold as far as advice and help is just passed on to like minded people. Many thanks and much appreciation and respect for all thread ice I received a dim sure ill be back before to long. Happy boating and happy days.
