engine mounting

I am fitting an engine on my boat and most of the recommendations on here are to use Sikaflex for sealing around the bolts. I can not get my hands on this quickly so I am wondering if Tec 7 would suffice?

I'm sure you'll find plenty who don't venture on here who used some normal clear bathroom silicone without a problem and others who have had an issue. You'll find a few less with sikkaflex who've had an issue but there are still some who will. Tec 7 looks as though its close in concept to sikka... so suspect you'll be fine. If it fails you'll not know for sure if sikka would have too...

Cheers for that! I'm hoping to only do this once so would like to get it right. I might temporarily bolt it on dry and continue connecting up the engine until I source the sikaflex

Sika 291 is readily available, usually overnight.

Yea I can get it within a day or 2, but I'm doing the work now and this tube of tec7 is looking down at me from the shelf and I started wondering should I or not!

Personally I would hang on until you get some sikaflex
