Hi Steve,

8 Volts !!! I am surprised the engine even starts. The fuel injection system normally wont kick in at anything less than 11v...

Definitely sort out your batteries, and check you wiring this may well resolve the issue.

I am sure my key switch hasn't got plugs on the end - it has tails that goes to a larger harness plug?

don't like the look of "International items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges"

Don't we have a good UK/EU distributor who stocks parts and wont charge the earth?

Measured where? If you have a meter connected at the batteries, then yes, it's likely them. If your meter is closer to the starter, you need to determine if the you're losing voltage at the batteries, or if it's your wiring that is dropping part of it (i.e. you still have 11-12V at the batteries while cranking, but resistance in line eats up a few volts before it gets to the starter - more pronounced when pulling current, mainly while starting.)

This was measured on my HDS - so not the most accurate.

In my original post about starting problems I measured the voltage at the battery with a mm and got a drop to 10V-11V by sending a position request with DSC - so yes my batteries weren't the healthiest

Ok so 12 hours on since I started to seriously look into this issue and put an end to my problems I am a little further forward but think I need an unlimited credit card.... Today I have ordered two Numax XV24MF batteries, and looking at options for a new ignition switch and battery switch. New batteries should arrive tomorrow, but not sure about other items as short on money until payday. On Friday I am going to get the boat back out and fit the new batteries and run it back up on the tank and connect ev diag to check voltages. I just hope new batteries fix it, and as a last resort battery and ignition switch. If it's the EMM or flywheel and or stator I'm screwed

Sounds familiar?

The new flywheel has the magnets sunk in between ribs on the inside of the flywheel.
