55hp on sr5.4

my mate has just blown a piston on his 90hp 2-stroke on a 5.4sr and as the engine is old has decided enough is enough
so hes putting his spare yam 55hp 2-stroke on.
what sort of speed etc is he likly to get i personally think the engine is to small for the boat
what you think?

It will work and get onto the plane however it's not going to be fast (25knots) and if there a couple of pie munchers on board then it might be a case of careful distribution !!!

Re prop it- still won't be fast, but will at least rev somewhere near where it's supposed to.

Alternatively those things are ten a penny on ebay - twin 55s?
