Do you mean using the Private Message system? If so, there isn't currently an option to include attachments, but it's on the list of possible features for the next release of the software.

No, I meant sending an e-mail via Ribnet. In the old system, the forum member's e-mail address was shown which would then start my normal e-mail client. In the new system, no address shown (which is good) but no provision for attachements that I could see.

Ah, OK! Unfortunately there isn't an option for that either.

I chose to use the "secure" email feature as I think it's a better way of doing things -- it keeps people's privacy and means that the address is kept away from spammers. It's a system-wide option though so has to be all or nothing.

Tread thingy was useful cos it sometimes takes a while to open a thread to see what it is about. I'm hoping to get broadband soon and that might cure the slowness. Otherwise it was useful as a quick preview.

OK, since there seem to be more for than against I've turned it back on again.

I've set it to show less text than before so that the pop up is smaller. Is it still enough to be useful?

a bit more text I think and also if it could stay on for longer than the 3 or seconds it currently is. I have to jiggle my pointer and I'm not very good at that you see
