Help with Commercial insurance?

Hi guys this may or may not be your thing but i have contacted approx 50+ companies for Commercial insurance for watersports and all have said no!
I want to run a waterskiing, wakeboarding and inflateable watertoy company on the south coast but they say the risk is higher than sky diving!

So Guys ANY Help would be Great and if your down my way please feel free to call in as all are welcome

if i cant get insurance very soon the venture will be cancelled, i have contacted the BMF & Marine southwest with no joy!

Ribshop use Hays Parsons. 01179301651, they have always been very helpfull. not cheap though.

Crazywaves,

I would be interested to know how you get on. I was considering doing something similar, but no insurance company appears remotely interested - they just turn down the quote request. Tried PIC, Curtis etc, no-one I can find is interested in doing it commercially!!

Have you tried British Waterski Federation you are not the only person doing this . Other schools might be worth contacting to see who they are with and what are the requirements for running such a venture.

Tim i am a member of the BWSF and they can't help R A Carter do the BWSF ins but don't do commercial insurance, it seams old companies can still get ins but NOT new ones i have spoken to lots of people doing what i want to do and have tried there ins companies with NO luck.
i have the backing of the MCA,RNLI,Local Harbour Master,Council,Locals etc etc but still no joy! looks like i may have to go to LLOYDS OF LONDON DIRECT! they est £10k+

Crazywaves,

You are not alone mate!! I've been considering getting something similar up and running - but nobody is remotely interested in the insurance liability. In my case, it just means that the venture is economically unviable - trying to recover £10k+ in insurance over the short summer months... not likely.

I've been unable to get a straight answer from the insurers as to why they aren't interested - they just decline to quote.
