Round Britain Powerboat Race 2008 [merged threads]

OK, time to start planning, get that new boat ordered, brush up on your navigation and get into shape!

For the first time since 1984 and only the third time ever, there's going to be a Round Britain Powerboat Race in 2008.

More details attached below.

A few questions to those in the know

1. Who are the sponsors of this event?
2. Has it got any TV coverage on any of the National or international channels? and which?
3. What is the prise money wise?

I don't suppose that anyone here has the answers.

Probably better to email Mike Lloyd. His address is race at roundbritain.info

We are weighing up our options and tentatively planning an entry!

Sounds like it will be a fantastic event.

At the moment thinking Revenger or Pascoe with a single diesel and race in Rib F1.

Will be reading up on the classes and researching conventional speed boats too though.
Looking for something that will be competative in its class, but fits our budget.
