Hope the guy doesn't get an itchy bum at that speed as he'll spiral off into those trees

As for the Gopro hero2, if it does record in 90 deg field of view, will it also double up as a HD video camera for the family too ???

I found this vid on another site and the guy said that this was recorded by a hero2 in 90 fov.

forget the go pro's unless your spending silly money -

I have a kodak playsport zx3, coupled with category10 16gb SD Card = fully waterproof - I've used it windsurfing, wakeboarding, ribbing you name, its simply brilliant, it outdoes the go pro I think as its does 60fps (go pro does30) in HD 720p and 1080p resolution, and it doesnt have a standard fish eye lense, its drop proof, I give my stuff a hard time, and it takes the grief and captures the audio better with the mic, has face recognition, image stabilisation, you can even down volume the mic input elimating annoying wind noise - look at some of my videos, the quality speaks for itself, just make sure you view the youtube videos in HD 720p mode (as per image at bottom)

Also plugs in to TV via hdmi and has a view finder unlike the go pro and has a thread underneath for mounts etc

Olly,
Thanks for the tip, but it is just too late. Yesterday evening I ordered a Go Pro HD Hero 2. Lots of factors came into the decision, but pressure proof to 60m is one of them. Just need to get the lights now
Thanks to all for your guidance - much appreciated.

Just ordered one at that price. Will order other stuff from the states. Much cheaper, even with the delivery charge.

But don't you have to pay import duty or vat on stuff from the US?

Depends, but to date I have not. Even allowing for that the bits I want are still cheaper. The LCD back is 79 here, $79 in US that works out at about 51 at current xchange rates.

Understand the attraction of US purchases. Stopped it a while ago though here...the saving not worth the hassle of a lost shipment and a faulty gizmo

I did buy the camera itself in the UK for warranty reasons, but I ordered the accessories from the states and found a supplier that was even cheaper on price and delivery than originally sourced. delivery is by UPS and is trackable.
