Gavin
Your post made me think, but rest assured this is not aimed at yourself, but is a more general comment.

I admit I do have a problem with Authority, New Labour, and sometimes the Police, but have spent some of the happiest years of my live working out of Dublin, and spending time working all around the world with Irish colleagues who rapidly became friends.
Also, who puts their RIB away for the Winter? Some of the best boating I've done has been in a deserted Solent and Devon coast in December and January, so what if its cold, or the RIB may get dirty not tucked up in a shed somewhere.

I think my real point is that we all agree and disagree with different things, and thats one of the best things about this site.
But by using the site we have to understand that its an open public forum for people from all walks of life, and we can't expect to find everyone in ageement about everything.

To nail my colours to the mast, I find Codprawn very entertaining, because I take every oppertunity to soak up other peoples views in the hope that I'll become a much more informed and balanced person. I also enjoy the real characters in life, and find quiet, dull, sheep like people, very very boring.
I actually agree with a lot he says, and sometimes feel that I wish people would disagree a little more quietly, but then that goes against my own principles.

Nasher.

Police closing Motorways , what next if they didnt close them you would be jibbering on about something else!
What are you on about - you don't even have motorways.........

As to a problem with authority it's funny but most people are anti establishment when they are younger but come to accept it as they get older. Now I haven't changed so I can only assume the establishment has!!!

Might be Motorways to you but they are dual carriageways to us.

I've driven a fair few of these roads and most are just like UK town by passes.

Who has the correct terminology ?

Codders is always wrong, but that is Ok as it reminds the rest of us that we are always right. What would we do without him?
