How many bands...

Just in case this hasn't gone around your office yet, have a look at the link and see how many bands you can identify:

http://virgindigital.com/wallpapers/...al1280x960.jpg

The two pairs of scissors are the scissor sisters - you get the idea?

There's supposed to be about 70 (or is it 72?)

Have fun!

Richard - there are 74 bands.

We believe we have a full list of the correct answers. Let me know if you want it posted - but I don't want to spoil anyones fun.

Warning - I spent 4 hours to get the first 40! Then we made it to about 60 the next day in the office - but it seriously affected productivity (although I believe it was good for team moral!)...

Missing Part Of Image

Richard's link above has a bit of the image missing (Virgin's fault not Richard's). There is an interactive version at the following link. But you can only officially enter the competition if you are a US citizen.

http://www.heavy.com/heavy.php?channel=virginGame

Notice the bit on the left of this image - that is missing in the jpeg...

...without this you can't get to 74!

The B52s classic song is "Rock Lobster" but not my favorite! I prefer "Love Shack".

I got Eminem straight away as I call M&Ms Eminems all the time. Nobody at work belived me as they are a bit anal

I'm intrigued by the lesbians under the traffic light (what bloke wouldn't be? ) Kiss or Tattoo?

That's good work!

Did you get the pair of posters under the lamp on the pillar between the two shops on the left?

Neil... I agree with all, I think!
Charles, I don't know if there's an "authoratative" list, but Neil (Polwart) has probably got the lot. Hang on a minute and I'll have a count-up.

Edit: Oi! Post in your own name dear! P.S. The spelling mistake is Richard's, not mine!

The list!

The interactive site lets you type in the answers. To work out if an answer is correct means doing them 1 at a time. I confess the list is not all my own work - but I believe they have all been checked...

...if anyone can't wait then mail me at n (dot) polwart (at) virgin (dot) net
replacing dots and at with . and @ and I'll send it to them. Richard doesn't want me to spoil his fun so I won't post it.

Virgin say they will announce the answers early next year.
