I've always found Dittisham to be a bit clique, especially across at the greenway landing spot, I know it's private but give us A break we are all inputting into the local economy, even a smile would help

We're having a great time, helped by the fantastic weather. Lakelandterrier took us for a spin in Aquahound this afternoon and we had a blast around Start Bay then took the kids to see the seals on the Mew Stone. Thanks!

As well as messing around in the SIB we've been doing a bit of sailing (!) and I've been kayaking each evening at dusk which is simply idyllic. The kids have been diving off our private quay at high water and bothering crabs in between.

We normally do lots of driving around on our holidays, visiting different places, but this week Dittisham has got just about everything we need.

JK is underselling himself - would be more accurate to say he took me for a spin in Aquahound - nice to watch the scenery for a change.
Big for the skilled way he handled her especially coming back across a mean little chop west of the range.

I have to say I found all types we met; locals, fellow tourists and even the numerous yachty blazer types very friendly. The general area could be re-named 'Audi-ville' though (at least in August).

We put the SIB ashore there for a couple of hours today while we went round Greenway. I phoned first to ask and was cheerfully told that it was no problem. The ferry driver cheerfully showed us where to put the SIB, and the boss man on the pier very cheerfully took 5 off me.

As this was 19 less than the six of us taking the Dittisham ferry both ways it felt like a pretty good deal. No complaints at all.

Not at 5.00pm you wouldn't have! Caught torrential rain storm 2 min before tying up at South Pontoon - got absolutely soaked. That's what I get from obeying the speed limit from the outer mark!.

Dried off & changed in DYC, and as soon as we set off to moor up for the night it stated again & didn't stop until we'd packed the boat up.

That said until then great day at Scabacoombe
