Checking water depth online

Is it possible to check sea depths online?

I.E. Something like google maps pick your area and it shows you the depth of it?

Thanks

Navionics also have free vector maps online. Just go to their homepage (navionics.com) and click "web app" on their page head menu.

Memory map do over 850 marine maps for £25 with 5 mobile device licenses or £50 for 5 mobile + laptop/pc.
These are downloadable onto your phone/tablet and together with the built-in gps can track your position etc.

I've bought them recently and find them very good. you do however have to download each chart at multiple resolutions which took me a while to work out how to do. There is no download all unfortunately

But for £25 it's a slight inconvenience.

The Navionics webapp is very handy for a bit of quick research: Navionics Webapp

Obviously, an actual paper chart works too

For the small cost involved, buying the UK & Ireland Navionics App for a GPS enabled smartphone or tablet makes a lot of sense, as you can use it on land for planning, and as a backup device when at sea.

I've got the App but it doesn't do the overlays like in the link.

It's still a great app, if you don't mind shelling out a few quid.
