Well 'ard Solent cruisers needed on Sat (10th Dec)

OK if your well 'ard and fancy a good excuse to get out of Christmas shopping you could come out for a play on Saturday on the Solent.

We are gonna launch from Calshot Spit around 11 then probably across and up the Medina for pub lunch then down towards Yarmouth and the Needles for a quick blast and play.

I've got my boat and a 6m searider (first time on the sea since my mate bought it!) and it would be nice to have some company!

So if your well `ard , hate christmas shopping and fancy a play drop a post (not on your toes! ) and we'll see you there!

Chris

Weather - a wee bit in advanced but if your well `ard it shouldn't be a problem anyway!

General Situation:

Low pressure, centred close to NE England initially, will gradually slip away southeastwards and fill. Brief ridge of high pressure for a time on Wednesday before frontal system arrives in the west later.

Outlook for Saturday 10/12/05 to Wednesday 14/12/05:

Anticyclonic conditions look like dominating which means that many places should be generally dry, despite rather a lot of cloud at times. The far north of England is most likely to see any rain. MEDIUM confidence.

I'd love to come along but I've had to promise Mrs C that I'll be around this weekend.

Hope you all have a fine time.

Phil, You are also forgetting that we have the pontoontalk Xmas bash so I hope that whatever you have promised Mrs C does not include the evening

anyway I would have loved to go but there is not only our Xmas bash in the Arun View but also the tides are against us for such trip. HW at LAmpton is at 06:24 . there will be no recovery in the afternoon

"Well 'ard" and "Solent" , bit of a contradiction in terms there. At least Hugh/Chris has a good excuse. Who'd turn down a days dusting and ironing for a blast out in a Rib?!!

Turns out you probably wont need to be well `ard!

Daily Weather Summary
General Situation:
A weakening occlusion will clear away from the region today, allowing a ridge of high pressure to develop in its wake. This area of high pressure is then set to continue right through the weekend, building all the while.
Saturday 10/12/05
Mist and fog clearing to leave rather cloudy skies, but also some bright or sunny spells. Dry. Remaining cloudy overnight with a little patchy drizzle, as well as some mist or fog. Light winds.

Precipitation Forecast
Forecast for 0001 to 2400 Saturday 10/12/05:
Mostly dry across England and Wales, perhaps just a little rain in the north and west. HIGH confidence for most places to remain dry throughout.

So it now sounds good! Perhaps we should change the post title to Southern Wussy's Wanted???

Room for a Southern Wussy? (actually I'm well 'ard, but I don't like to boast)
If I miss you at Calshot, is it the Folly you're heading for?

YES room for another Southern Wussy! (I'm practically one anyway! )

It was indeed the plan to head for the Folly Inn! Cheap moorings and a pretty good selection of food! I will try to contact them and give them some vague numbers, nothing concrete though.

So far I have;

Me, Courtney and Lisa on Northern Exposure aka Sherbert Xpress!
Chris and Laurence on Thames Barrier 2
Paul, Kathline (+ ??) on Merlin
Slim Tim (+1?) on Cormorant
Carlly Baby + 1 on Backdraft
Ian M (+??) on his XS.

Makes 12 so far. If people firm up the numbers it would help!!!! Please fill in the blanks if you get time!

Chris
