Solent to Alderney/Guernsey - Weekend 27/28 October 2007

After the stress of the rugby :-( just wondered if anyone was up for a run across the water weekend of the 27/28th Oct subject to our extended summer continuing. No master plan as yet but would do overnight stay. Understand short notice but see how we go.

If we're visitor-free we'll dig out Merlin Phil.

Like the 'subject to decent weather' clause

Phil,

Yup, away in France tomorrow till Thursday night... so will log back on then.

Just looked at the weekend prediction on ecmwf and the isobars look quite wide and possibly OK.... but on the other hand, GB Wind Map says 25 mph easterlies!!!

So anything is possible..... Will need to be 4 or less for me. Don't like bumps!

K & P, cancel all visitors, it would be great to do another trip with you guys, may even be less dramatic than the last one :-) only just got Stuart back in the boat the other weekend.

Well, think the rain and wind forecast for this weekend has killed this one off, perhaps another time, good news is that its windy, time to get back to windsurfing at last.

Absolutely, haven't been out for far too long now. Where do you sail? I make the occasional guest appearance at Witterings (seeing that you are Chichester I am guessing) but tend to just do bump and jump stuff in the Solent.

Yep, Twitterings chap, great weekend, took the boat for a spin around the IOW on Sat, then a 5.2m day at WW, did you get out, many other windsurfers on Ribnet ? next time you decide to make a guest appearance give me a buzz, we have a good midweek crowd when its windy if you have the chance to get away from work

Phil
That must be an Ezzy then as you are not allowed by law (Bassetts law) to sail with anything else are you?

No, I didn't as I am mid Hamble Winter Series on the big boat, so sailed around, took the win and looked a little enviously at all of my mates enjoying themselves just downwind of me at Hill Head and Monks Hill!!!

As I said I sneak over to Witt occasionally, you'll recognise me as I use Naish Boxers and a Goya rather than the mandatory Ezzy/RRD!!!! I imagine you know one of my work colleagues quite well if you are a Witt regular as he lives next door (literally) to WWWC (just moved to the Strand) and sails Ezzy on a Goya.

Sounds as if you have had the joy of Mr B upon you, understand what you mean and often a talking point when i am down in the office.

We had a kite surfing accident down a East Wittering the other month and the WW est have put in force new rules, think you can still use Buggys week days though.

Nah, Mr B and I have an understanding, I know lots of his followers who spend lots of money updating their kit with him each year and they sign me in, he views me as a mission to try and convert me from my stuff to the kit he peddles so I get let in!!!

I actually bought a reasonable amount of stuff from that empire when Robbie was about as he understood my need not to pay full price for anything or do deals! But then those two fell out and that was that!
