Solent in august

That's it I'm all booked up to take my rib to Gosport for the first time this August! All I need now is some info! Where is the best places to visit and distance from Gosport? Would like to go to the needles but looks along way. Anyone know best place for day out, to wakeboard and dive? All info will be great.
Thanks

You can go most places with that setup, can you get down on the 26th May for round Isle of Wight? you don't have to bring your rib as you can always get a seat and donate some money to Macmillan for it

Try this for some info on local places

Places To Visit From KB Dry Stack

Our location is only a couple of minutes from Gosport so should still be relevant

Which marina are you going in? Portsmouth Harbour is nicely placed to explore the Solent, plus it's one of the more interesting harbours to explore. You could easily spend a day just exploring the harbour; having a look at the naval dockyard, exploring some of the creeks North of of the harbour, stopping for lunch at one of the numerous marinas (Gunwharf, Port Solent etc).

The Needles is easily doable from Portsmouth (done it many times) - it's not that far. Cowes is about 20 minutes away (best time I ever did was Gunwharf to Cowes in 12 mins) and again makes a nice day trip - potter over there, have a drink and a wander in town before heading down the river to the famous Folly Inn for some lunch.

Yarmouth too is a nice place to stop for lunch and could be combined with a trip to the Needles. Then there's the olde-wolde Beaulieu River, just the other side of Southampton water.

Loads to choose from

Very little diving in the Solent as it's too murky, best to head out to Sandown Bay for 20m wrecks or the Nab Tower for 30m, alternatively out past the Needles for pleasant drift diving in amongst the rocks in 10 - 15m.

Gosport premier marina, thanks for all the info. Jut had a look what's on and it seems to be cowes week, does that mean there will be hardly any spare water?

Yes, place will be buzzing, great week to come and see everything. Don't forget the firework display at Cowes on the Friday

However, you will get a space at Gosport.

An evening in Cowes during Cowes week has to be done. I think this photo sums it up pretty well:
